Spotify creates personal ‘Year in Music’ for listeners

Spotify has unveiled a new end-of-year feature that gives users a breakdown of what they’ve been listening to in 2015.

The music streaming service’s ‘Year in Music’ interactive page lets users scroll through a compilation of their listening habits over the last year.

Stats include first played song along with top five artists and it will even tell the user their most listened to artists during each season.

The total time spent listening to Spotify throughout the year is given in hours, minutes and days.

The review also gives users the total number of songs and artists played, telling them if the results are higher or lower than in 2014.

A snapshot card enables users to share their potentially embarrassing listening stats with everyone they know on social media.

Spotify has also compiled memorable moments from 2015 that affected people’s listening habits, such as the release of the documentary film ‘Amy’ which caused a 70% spike in streaming of Amy Winehouse’s music.
