Microsoft partners Gumtree for search ad initiative on Bing

Bing Ads has launched a new syndication partnership with classified site Gumtree.com.

Under the new deal, visitors will now be served Bing Ads advertisements when searching on Gumtree across mobile and tablet.

Ebay-owned Gumtree has an audience of over 14.9 million monthly users in the UK, selling second hand goods and cars.

The deal, which expands Bing Ads reach, marks the business’ first UK-based deal of this kind.

Commenting on the partnership, Tor Thompson, EMEA Regional Director for Bing Ads said: “We are thrilled to be collaborating with such a trusted household name as Gumtree.com, who are leading the way in engaging consumers on mobile and tablet devices in the classifieds space. We’ve already seen extremely promising results through our trial period, and most importantly, the partnership will bring a new stream of high-quality clicks to Bing Ads advertisers within the UK.

“Today’s announcement demonstrates the continually expanding reach and scale offered by Bing Ads which, through our recent partnership with AOL, cements our positioning as a genuine market challenger offering innovation at scale for advertisers.”

Matt Barham, Commercial Director at Gumtree.com added: “Gumtree.com prides itself on being the UK’s go-to marketplace for everything from cars to careers, and Bing Ads performance has been very promising in further enriching our results with relevant, targeted ads. This partnership supports our initiative to diversify our revenue lines, and we look forward to exploring further opportunities to collaborate with the Bing Ads team.”
