Philippines leads Asia Pacific for internet use

Filipino Internet users spent 6.2 hours per day on the Internet through laptop or desktop computers and 2.8 hours through mobile devices, according to new research.


The study, from ad agency We Are Social using data from Global/WebIndex, indicates that internet users in the Philippines are the most intensive in the whole of the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.
On average, each user in the Philippines spends 6.2 hours per day through a desktop or laptop and 2.8 hours logged to the Internet through a mobile device.
Mayalysian users are the second most active online, spending 5.5 hours via desktops and 3.1 hours via mobile devices.
The Philippines also lead the way for social media use, with each of its 34 million internet users spending 4 hours a day engaged in some sort of digital social media.
This degree of participation in social media is certainly an attractive opportunity for brands.
