M&S discount store starts selling online

Marks & Spencer has taken its discount store ‘M&S Outlet’ online this week.

The store previously traded only from 50 dedicated stores across the UK, but is now selling online as well.
The move makes the company’s overstocks and past collection merchandise more accessible to internet shoppers.
The M&S Outlet site offers more than 1,300 M&S clothing products for men, women and children, with discounts of up to 40% and, promises the company, its range will be “regularly refreshed with quality products from recent M&S collections.”
Richard Fox, head of M&S Outlet, said: “The internet is often the first port of call for shoppers in search of a bargain, as it offers a quick and convenient way to compare the deals available.
We’ve responded to our customers’ increased demand for online access to great value by extending our popular outlet offer on our website, making it even easier for customers to treat themselves to the best of M&S at even better prices.”
M&S Outlet launched in November 2000 but it has never previously been available online.
It is tempting new customers in for the first week with the offer of free UK delivery for those spending £30 or more until March 4.
There is also a 10% discount off the first order for those signing up to the M&S newsletter.
