Right to reply: Ofcom UK media report: Can too much TV ever be a bad thing?

Research published last week by Ofcom reports that TV viewing has continued to increase despite the rise of internet and social media. According to the findings, viewers watched an average of three hours and 45 minutes of television a day in 2009 – 3% more than in 2004. This is great news for the TV industry; despite the rise of new media and entertainment sources, TV is more popular ever! But while the report attributes this popularity in part to new content-boosting technologies such as digital TV sets and recorders, Thomas Dvorak, chief marketing officer of APRICO Solutions, argues that these new services will only carry the industry so far before we start to see a consumer backlash”
