Pop culture clothing site Absolute Cult launches consumer website

Clothing retailer Absolute Cult, which prints Star Wars, Marvel Comics and Disney garments, is launching a new consumer website with SpinMe’s imaging technology following successful shop fronts on Amazon and eBay.

Absolute Cult has partnered with studio workflow specialist SpinMe to give customers a real-life feel for products prior to placing orders. Consumers can inspect garments including t-shirts and vests in fine detail, viewing stitching and designs with exceptional clarity.

The retailer has seen a 35% increase in sales over three months since implementing the technology.

“The biggest sales impact we’ve experienced is moving from flat to ‘on model’ photography,” said Helen Parish, Studio Manager at Absolute Cult. “There were immediate benefits, and the software has also cut post-production time dramatically. We’re updating our entire online catalogue.”

Absolutecult.com will launch this autumn. The retailer also sells DC Comics, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones clothing, among other brands.

SpinMe is currently setting up an in-house photographic studio, enabling Absolute Cult to increase workflow efficiency.

“Absolute Cult will be able to get intricately detailed product images live more quickly,” said David Brint, CEO of SpinMe. “We’re continually refining the image capture and workflow process, giving control to the retailer while enabling ever faster production of high quality rich media. As a result, consumers get the best representation of a product as is possible online.”
