BMW show a sense of humour over alphabet

BMW have responded to Google’s Alphabet restructure by publishing an A to Z of its fleet management services provided under it’s Alphabet brand.

Using visually similar graphics to Google it reminds the public that the name was in use long before Google’s announcement on Monday. BMW own alphabet.com. Alphabet Inc. (Google’s new parent) opted for abc.xyz for their domain. Google have already been trolled by at least one user who set up ABC.WTF and redirecting this to Bing. Sesame Street has taken to Twitter to proclaim “Alphabet? It’s been part of Sesame Street since 1969”, as has Alphabet Energy (a California company which turns waste heat into electricity) announcing they have NOT taken over Google.
Using the alphabet name has been a point of contention for several businesses and it remains to be seen when the humour ends whether legal action ensues. The German auto firm are among those said to be considering their position.
