Sesame Street goes digital with $4 subscription

Sesame Workshop, the non-profit educational organization behind Sesame Street, has launched Sesame GO, a web-based video subscription service.

The advert-free platform will serve up classics and current episodes of the iconic children’s education show Sesame Street, as well as the cartoon Pinky Dinky Doo.
The new platform is powered by Kaltura, the same open source video platform that’s behind Wikipedia’s HTML5 player.
Rather than use native apps, Sesame will work on web browsers via Mac, PC, smartphones and tablets.
Sesame Go is available in the US now, costing $3.99 per month, or $29.99/year, and features a free two-week trial.
