PayPal recruits for 1,000 new jobs in Ireland

Online payments provider PayPal said it would create 1,000 new jobs in Dundalk, County Louth in Ireland.

The company, a subsidiary of California-based digital auction giant eBay, already employs 1,500 people at its European headquarters in Blanchardstown in Dublin.
Guardian reported that the company is expected to make the announcement about the new jobs soon.
The people employed will process online payments from Europe, the Middle East and Africa and are expected to be placed in customer and sales support teams.
The jobs will be filled for four years and the company expects it would boost the struggling Irish economy.
Reports reveal the new jobs will help improve the Dundalk economy near the Northern Ireland border.
PayPal, founded in 1998, has 232m customers in 190 markets worldwide and it opened European operation centre in Dublin in 2003.
