No more missed deliveries? Amazon to offer ‘click and collect’ service

Amazon is set to offer a new self-collect service for its customers, using lockers at shopping centres.

The service aims to solve the dilema faced by many online shoppers, who cannot receive deliveries during the day. The first lockers could be in place in at least one London location as soon as next week.
The lockers, sized to accept the different boxes Amazon uses to package its deliveries, feature a display and keypad.
Users will type in a code given to them after the order has been delivered which will unlock the box containing their parcel.
Amazon already has some collection lockers in place in America, where they are operated in conjunction with the 7-Eleven convenience store chain.
