Social media ‘Apprentice’ campaign to find Alan Sugar’s favourite word

A social media campaign has been launched as the UK’s most high-profile recruitment process begins in the form of the BBC’s ‘Apprentice’. MyJobGroup.co.uk, which operates over 300 regional job boards across the UK, has launched the UK’s first competition to find the single most commonly used word by the business supremo throughout Series Six of the BBC’s award-winning show.

During each weekly episode of the current series, MyJobGroup.co.uk will transcribe every word he says, publishing the findings in a Word Cloud the following morning at www.myjobgroup.co.uk/apprentice
In addition, through Twitter, members of the public can predict what Lord Sugar’s most frequently used word will be for the entire series, with a replica ‘Sir Alan’ boardroom chair going to the winner.
Entrants can Tweet the word they think will be most used by Lord Sugar followed by the hashtag #lordsugarMJG. Alternatively, they can visit www.myjobgroup.co.uk/apprentice to input their predicted top word, should they not have a Twitter account, pronouns (such as ‘is’ and ‘it’) and contestant names are not counted.
Lee Fayer, Managing Director of MyJobGroup.co.uk, said: “As the sixth series of The Apprentice kicks off [on Wednesday 06 October], we’re sure employers and employees across the UK will be glued to the TV, finding out what makes one of the country’s most successful businessmen tick.
“This year, we’ve made it even easier for would-be Lord Sugars to model themselves on the business supremo, or candidates to impress even the most demanding of employers, by analysing his every word and launching our competition in the process.
“Whilst it’s a light-hearted competition, it shows how important it is to impress at interview. With the jobs market particularly competitive at the moment, it’s vital to put yourself ahead of the pack and we hope our competition will enable candidates to hear those immortal words, ‘You’re Hired!’.”
