Vodafone debuts 360 Android app store

Vodafone has unveiled its 360 Shop app store designed for Android customers as the network operator expands further into mobile web services.

The store will let Vodafone customers browse and buy over 8,500 custom-made apps tailored specifically for Android-based handsets through the Vodafone 360 service.

The 360 Shop for Android will launch initially on the HTC Wildfire and Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro in the summer with further handsets later in the year.

It will feature all digital content including music, video, ringtones as well as apps. Apps bought in the shop will be charged to customers’ monthly Vodafone bills.

Developers are also being encouraged to publish and promote either native Android apps or cross-platform ones in the 360 Shop.
