Zoopla iPhone property app lists every UK home

Property website Zoopla has launched a free iPhone app for UK property consumers, listing all 27 million homes in the country.

The app has been designed as the ultimate resource for the residential property market allowing users to view available property listings as well as sold price data, current value estimates and other local market information.

As a first for the UK property market, the Zoopla app makes use of Augmented Reality technology, displaying images of any property along with any relevant information such as the current asking price or current value estimate via the camera view.

With almost half a million properties listed for sale or rent, over 15 million sold house prices displayed and instant value estimates on each of the 27 million homes in the country, the new Zoopla iPhone app is being welcomed by property addicts and nosey neighbours alike.

This new mobile app is likely to prove an essential tool for house hunters on the move as an extension of the enormously popular Zoopla website. By combining free, instant value estimates for every UK home with sold prices, local market information and hundreds of thousands of properties available for sale and to rent, the app will be a very useful destination for property consumers to both search for property and do their market research.

  • Key features of the Zoopla iPhone app include:
  • Free, instant value estimates for all 27 million UK homes
  • Over 15 million house prices paid dating back to 1995
  • Local market data including average home values by area
  • Search results by geography, price, keywords and more
  • Hundreds of thousands of properties for sale and to rent
  • Map-led search as well as list view and Augmented Reality*
  • Ability to save and email friends your favourite properties
  • One touch click to call or email estate agents instantly

*Available with iPhone 3GS or 4 only

Alex Chesterman, Founder and CEO of Zoopla said, “Much like the Zoopla website, our iPhone app provides consumers with the information they need to make better-informed property decisions. As well as listing properties available to buy or rent, we provide useful information to help users make sense of the residential property market. And now our services will be easily and readily accessible whilst ‘on location’ via the new mobile app.”

Right to reply: The New Twitter – a sticky, revenue-rich service that blitzes the third-party apps
Twitter is now a 'destination website' and that means it is gunning for Facebook, but cleverly avoiding a direct dogfight. It’s more an information network than a social network and so is offering much, much more. Tanya Goodin, CEO of search and social conversion agency Tamar comments…

Right to reply: ‘Instant Search’– Google giveth then taketh away
Google has just announced its “streaming search” service, Google Instant, is coming out of limited Beta testing and going live for all users. According to Adam Bunn, Head of Search at leading independent search and social marketing agency Greenlight, when it comes to search engine optimisation campaigns (SEO), some websites may now suffer a drop in traffic.

Guest comment: No rival to the SMS text exists in the market today
SMS is the obvious “lowest common denominator” mobile marketing solution... yet critics still talk about apps and website and vouchers. Darren Daws, Managing Director at Txtlocal argues why SMS is still the best mobile marketing medium, even on smartphones.
