Wagamama has become the first restaurant brand in the uk to launch its own iphone application, designed for users wishing to place a take-out order directly from their handset.

The pan-asian chain’s app, which has been created in conjunction with i.t. application specialists micros systems, is free to download from apple’s iphone app store
The app enables users to locate their nearest branch of wagamama and browse the menu to place their order.
Their selection is then transmitted straight to the kitchen, in a similar way to the wireless hand-held devices used by wagamama restaurant staff. users can state a preferred collection slot, at any time on the day of the order, with secure payment made with a debit or credit card via the app
Micros systems’ mycentral online ordering technology powers wagamama’s app and allows it to be fully integrated with the selected restaurant’s ordering and food preparation processes, as well as automatically refreshing the app with new dishes and specials from the wagamama menu as soon as they are added.
To download the wagamama app, iphone users can visit the itunes app store and search for ‘wagamama’.
To coincide with the launch of wagamama’s iphone app, the company’s online take-out site, wagamamatakeout.com, has been relaunched with a host of new features.
The site now boasts a new faster ordering system, including an intuitive search technique to create a quicker and more streamlined experience for users
wagamama’s CEO Steve Hill commented: “At wagamama we have always embraced the newest technology, so we’re proud to be first-to-market in the restaurant sector with our new iphone app. bringing the wagamama experience to the iphone offers more flexibile ordering than ever before, coupled with the speed and quality of service that our customers know and love”
