Online dining and reservation community toptable has launched a free iPhone app, offering augmented reality- based locations services, a tip calculator and even a wine recommendation tool.

The app developed in conjunction with Mobile Commerce is now downloadable for free from the Apple iTunes, App store and gives users access to the toptable service where ever they are enabling them to view and book restaurants nearby.

Carl Lyons, Marketing Director said: “toptable customers have been asking us to develop an app and our aim has been to create one that makes it really easy for them to book restaurants however and whenever they like.

“The app went live on Monday this week and we have already had some very positive reviews and helpful feedback which we welcome as it will help us enhance the service the app provides.”

The toptable app features an augmented reality element ‘table reality’ that allows users to actually see where the nearby restaurants are, a ‘tip calculator’ that makes it easy to work out how much gratuity to leave and ‘my sommelier’ which gives handy tips and advice on what wine goes well with certain dishes.
