C4 app lets Come Dine with Me fans create their own show

Channel 4 has launched an application to let fans of cookery show Come Dine With Me create and upload their own episode online.

The app, available on the Channel 4 website, lets fans upload pictures of their night and edit them together with visuals, music and voiceover clips from presenter Dave Lamb.

‘Come Dine With Me Homemade’ was created by digital agency Metabroadcast.

The service also uses Facebook Connect to allow users to tag the content, comment and share it with friends.

Julia Pal, editor of 4food, said, “Come Dine With Me Homemade feels like the natural next step, allowing fans of the programme to create their own, personalised version of the show.”

The best shows will be selected every six weeks to win a prize, judged by a Channel 4 team.
