Orange is making up to 20MB download speeds a standard across all its home broadband packages within the Orange broadband network area as part of a price plan refresh.

The pledge to provide faster download speeds builds on Orange’s commitment to enhance its broadband service, and ‘evolve’ the company’s home broadband offering in the UK.

Orange will be offering download speeds of up to 20 Meg to all new customers on its broadband network .

As well as introducing the new speeds, Orange is also refreshing its home broadband portfolio, part of which will see all new customers able to download the multimedia content they want, with an unlimited download usage allowance across all price plans that is subject to fair usage.

The broadband refresh will be supported by a new integrated marketing campaign under the strapline “No more speeding fines”, designed to highlight the new download speed and which will feature across a combination of press and outdoor advertisements, direct mail and online advertising as well as throughout Orange shops in the run up to Christmas.

Asif Aziz, Director of Broadband and Home, Orange UK said: “We’re really pleased to be making download speeds of up to 20 Meg available as standard - regardless of the home broadband package a customer chooses. With these faster speeds, built around price plans which really do offer value for money - customers can make the most of the internet and enjoy a faster and more seamless experience when going online.”

Twitter is now a 'destination website' and that means it is gunning for Facebook, but cleverly avoiding a direct dogfight. It’s more an information network than a social network and so is offering much, much more. Tanya Goodin, CEO of search and social conversion agency Tamar comments…

Guest comment: No rival to the SMS text exists in the market today
SMS is the obvious “lowest common denominator” mobile marketing solution... yet critics still talk about apps and website and vouchers. Darren Daws, Managing Director at Txtlocal argues why SMS is still the best mobile marketing medium, even on smartphones.
