Ten million adults in the UK have no web access, with 66 per cent of them not interested in getting online, a study has found.
The research, carried out by the BBC to try and find ways of getting more people online.
However, 66 per cent of those without internet access simply aren't interested in using the web, the BBC found.
The government, as part of its Digital Britain initiative, has argued that people who aren't online are missing out on employment opportunities and public services as well as cheaper shopping and utilities.
These people are also losing out on ways to connect with friends and family, get information or pursue hobbies, the government claims.
Other reasons why so many UK adults are offline included a lack of knowledge about the web or little confidence using a computer.
The findings suggest that the government and other agencies will have their work cut out if they're to get as many people as possible online.
