Bing gains 7% in US search market as Google falters

The number of US searches conducted on Microsoft’s new Bing search engine has risen 7% in the past four weeks, while Google fell 1%, according to new research from Hitwise.

Google accounted for 70.60 percent of all U.S. searches conducted in the four weeks ending Oct. 31, 2009.

 

Yahoo! Search, Bing and Ask.com received 16.14 percent, 9.57 percent and 2.62 percent, respectively.

 

The remaining 52 search engines in the Hitwise Search Engine Analysis Tool accounted for 1.10 percent of U.S. searches.
