Search marketing consultancy Top Position has recruited Yahoo’s James Robins to join its own PPC management division.

Robins was an account manager at Yahoo! and based in the search engine’s office in Barcelona, Spain. He was attached to the Yahoo! Platinum division, working with the UK’s largest PPC advertisers.

Joining Top Position at one of the most exciting growth phases in the company’s history, Robin brings with him a wealth of search engine specific product knowledge.

“Having worked at Yahoo!, I was very aware of Top Position’s excellent reputation in the industry. I am delighted to be making the leap from search engine to client facing agency role and look forward to developing the Yahoo! department here at Top Position,” said Robins. “I’m extremely excited at the prospect of building on my knowledge of the search engine and showing UK advertisers the benefits of the Yahoo! advertising platform.”

Daniel Jupp, Top Position managing director said, “We are particularly thrilled by James appointment. While his extensive practical experience will deliver obvious benefits to our clients, his appreciation and enthusiasm for Yahoo! will be invaluable as we continue to develop our PPC management services on the platform.”

“The second largest search engine behind Google, Yahoo! is a great choice for the financially conscious advertiser in tough economic times. Boasting great conversion rates and excellent value for money, we look forward to introducing even more companies to our Yahoo! service over the coming months.”

Robins will be based in the search marketing firm’s Wimbledon office. Opened two months ago, the London location is one of two UK bases for Top Position. It recently opened a dedicated SEO centre in Nottinghamshire.
