Video sharing website Dailymotion is promoting the new independent British Film, ‘Clubbed’.

The site has created an official branded page, featuring clips from the film, trailers, music and interviews with the cast including Colin Salmon, Maxine Peake and Shaun Parkes.

Clubbed goes on general release in the UK on 16th January, 2009.

Produced by Martin Carr, Clubbed was short-listed for the Raindance Award at the British Independent Film Awards and is tipped to become a cult classic.

Set in the violent world of Eighties clubland, the film was written by BAFTA-winning writer Geoff Thompson and is based on his best-selling autobiography, ‘Watch My Back’

It charts the story of Danny, a lonely factory worker who is beaten and humiliated in front of his kids in a random act of violence.

Danny meets a group of nightclub doormen who take him in, where he becomes embroiled with the local gangland boss with brutal consequences.  Thompson, who spent nine years working as a doorman, appears in the film a boxer.

Martin Carr, Producer of ‘Clubbed’ explains, “We have released excerpts from ‘Clubbed’ on Dailymotion.com to promote it to a global audience and because Dailymotion is a passionate supporter of the British Independent Film industry.”

Digby Lewis, Creative Director, Dailymotion, added: “The film excerpts sound great and look fantastic in our High Definition video player and the clips and promotional details on Dailymotion help raise awareness of the film around the world and create anticipation in advance of the UK premiere later this month.
