UK online adspend slows but market share rises

Growth in online adspend in the UK will reach just 0.9% during 2009, according to new data from eMarketer.
According to the firm, online is finally feeling the pinch from advertising budget cuts - in particular those in the financial, motoring and retail sectors. eMarketer expect growth to return slowly during 2010, eventually approaching 10% in 2011.
However, the firm also notes that online adspend is increasing its share of the total UK ad market - eMarketer forecast that this year it will take over 20% of all UK adspend (£3.38bn).
