Vizwoz, a virtual world for teenagers, is set to launch in the US following its launch in the UK in 2007.

The company said it will break even in UK in Q3 2009 after 18 months and expansion plans continue with a US office scheduled to open in June 2009.

VizWoz was founded by serial entrepreneur, Daniel Laurence, mixes chat, single and multiplayer games, interactivity and user generated content.  Teen users create and customize their own character avatars all of whom move on futuristic hover boards.

Basic membership is free and allows teen users to explore with others; make and send messages to friends; play games and earn site currency; VizDollaz.

The company said it is now making partnership agreements with a number of gaming networks.

Other new features on the special-effects driven site include MyPlace offering users customisable rooms and the Media Player offering access to music and video content.

Daniel Laurence, CEO and Founder of VizWoz, said: “From the outset we have been committed and focused on developing our content and user experience as the user base has grown.  This approach has paid off, with the company breaking even within a short period of time, thanks to our users.   Moving forward we are looking at growth outside the UK market and developing VizWoz into the ultimate teen online destination worldwide.”

Daniel Laurence has been invited as one of the top 50 CEOs to present VizWoz at the fourth annual OnHollywood conference at 5.00pm (Ballroom 1, Sofitel Hotel, West Hollywood, CA) on Tuesday 28 April 2009.

The executive event presented by Forbes and AlwaysOn is where cutting-edge technology CEOs meet Hollywood digital entertainment and media elite and OnHollywood 100 Top Private Companies are announced.
