Royal marines launch mobile recruitment campaign on T-Mobile

The Royal Marines Commandos are teaming up with T-Mobile to target 18-24 year olds.

The move expands upon last November’s mobile Bluetooth campaign launched in conjunction with the cinematic release of James Bond ‘Quantum of Solace’.

This second venture links with a key mobile media partner to boost visits to the Royal Marines WAP site and promote the free and extensive downloadable content.

The Royal Marines Commandos are taking over the T-Mobile WAP homepage.

Paul Coffey (MD) of twentysix London, said: “The Quantum of Solace campaign generated over 87,000 downloads and proved highly successful in driving traffic to both the WAP and main Royal Marines Commandos site. T-Mobile’s WAP site is exactly the target audience the Royal Marines Commandos want to reach and adds saliency to their campaign.”

Twitter is now a 'destination website' and that means it is gunning for Facebook, but cleverly avoiding a direct dogfight. It’s more an information network than a social network and so is offering much, much more. Tanya Goodin, CEO of search and social conversion agency Tamar comments…

Guest comment: No rival to the SMS text exists in the market today
SMS is the obvious “lowest common denominator” mobile marketing solution... yet critics still talk about apps and website and vouchers. Darren Daws, Managing Director at Txtlocal argues why SMS is still the best mobile marketing medium, even on smartphones.
