Mobile advertising sales agency 4th Screen Advertising has inked a 12 month deal with ITN On to sell and serve targeted mobile banner adverts into ITN’s iPhone application.

ITN On’s app is one of the most popular iPhone applications in the store and number one in the free news application field.

With well over a million page impressions per month, the application expands 4th Screen Advertising’s iPhone network to in excess of 10 million page impressions per month.

Other sites on 4th Screen Advertising’s network include The Guardian, FHM, Autotrader and ITV.

According to Comscore, there are more than 1 million iPhone users in the UK - 93% of these regularly access mobile media and 80% access news via their mobile browser. Advertising via mobile offers the possibility of linking to, and promoting, the advertiser’s mobile internet site and full website via the iPhone.

Nicholas Wheeler, Managing Director, ITN On, said: “ITN On has always been at the forefront of supplying high quality video content attractive to digital advertisers. It has been a long struggle but content and advertising are really beginning to come together on mobile.  With the app off to a great start, it is fantastic to team up with a leading agency like 4th Screen Advertising to help monetise it".

Mark Slade, MD, 4th Screen Advertising said: “Signing with ITN On is great news for 4th Screen and expands our premium publisher network.  ITN’s video news is an extremely popular application which consolidates our position as the UK’s leading premium iPhone advertising network.

“iPhone mobile advertising offers extra features to other mobile sites in terms of rich media options, the ability to link through to full websites and also it allows brands to direct traffic to the app store.  We have seen traffic levels explode over the last six months and recognise this activity as a core part of our business going forward.”

Right to reply: The New Twitter – a sticky, revenue-rich service that blitzes the third-party apps
Twitter is now a 'destination website' and that means it is gunning for Facebook, but cleverly avoiding a direct dogfight. It’s more an information network than a social network and so is offering much, much more. Tanya Goodin, CEO of search and social conversion agency Tamar comments…
