Rated People, the UK’s largest online tradesperson recommendation service, has appointed independent digital communications agency Crayon for a relaunch.

Following an redesign of the www.ratedpeople.com website, Crayon will develop a communications strategy and deliver creative work for an online ad campaign. The new site and campaign are due to go live in early September.

Rated People deal with £1 million worth of home improvement jobs every day - their site maintains a database of thousands of tradespeople from across the UK with a skills base that includes garden design, stonemasonry, plumbing, building and carpentry.

Once a request for a job has been submitted by a potential customer, the Rated People site delivers up to three quotes from its base of recommended tradespeople.  Customers are invited to use the site to rate the services delivered, once the job has been done.

Ottokar Rosenberger, sales and marketing director at Rated People, said: “We’ve been really excited by Crayon’s creative thinking around our service. This is a really exciting time for us – we want to maintain our market-leading position in this competitive sector, and Crayon’s strategic planning and development will be instrumental in this.”

Richard French, partner at Crayon, added: “Rated People is a really great piece of business for us. The site is really intuitive and provides a truly valuable service for consumers, enabling them to find the best and most reliable tradespeople for any job. We’ve developed some fantastic ideas for the relaunch and can’t wait to see them go live.”
