It seems lingerie is resilient to any economic downturn as Brits continue to buy underwear despite the credit crunch, according to new figures.
Sales went up by two per cent in the last three months, according to cashback shopping network www.froggybank.co.uk.
It analysed the spending habits of its half a million members between July and September 2008.
As well as an increase in lingerie sales, it saw an increase in general sales of clothing and fashion accessories of 10 per cent.
froggybank.co.uk’s marketing manager Nadeem Azam said: “It seems we are opting for cosy nights just with our partners, leaving no room for a threesome with the credit crunch.”
He added: “We found the statistics surprising but the figures prove internet shopping still offers good value no matter what’s happening to the economy.”
