AOL has launched its Platform-A ad network in the UK, aimed at advertisers and agencies.

Platform-A includes AOL’s network, Advertising.com’s third-party network, audience insights and behavioural targeting from TACODA, international digital ad serving business ADTECH, mobile ad serving network Third Screen Media, and affiliate marketing network buy.at.

AOL announced the expansion of Platform-A into Europe in June 2008 and appointed Brendan Condon head of Platform-A’s International operations, based in London.  Michael Steckler was appointed UK MD of Platform-A, and announced a new leadership structure for the UK in July, 2008.

Brendan Condon, Managing Director of Platform-A International, said: “With Platform-A, we can offer advertisers what no other ad network can: brand advertising at scale, performance advertising across multiple media, and targeting at scale. AOL already has a very strong consumer presence in the UK and this launch builds on that by providing advertisers a powerful and effective way to reach online consumers.”

Michael Steckler, Managing Director of Platform-A UK, adds, “From today, the UK online advertising market will benefit from the increased effectiveness and efficiencies of working with one partner across multiple media channels including quality portal opportunities, our video and mobile advertising networks, affiliate marketing and social media.

“We have aligned our enterprises in the UK to build the optimum operation, lead by a team combining strengths across the business to provide the best experience for our advertising and publishing partners.”
