US video ad network enters UK

US-based online video advertising network Tremor Media has opened offices in London and appointed a new managing director for the UK, Adrian Lacey.

Tremor Media is one of the top four video advertising networks in the USA and as such has ambitious growth plans for Europe.

Tremor plans to quickly establish itself as the de facto experts in online video advertising in the UK market.

Tremor has experienced significant success in the US working with leading advertisers such as IBM, Mars, Disney, Ford and L’Oreal.

As the reallocation of TV advertising money to digital takes place, Tremor’s expertise in online video means that it is well placed to capitalise on this trend.

Online video advertising continues to be a growth sector despite the economic downturn and subsequently Tremor made the decision to expand its operations in Europe.

Tremor Media will bring this expertise to the UK market with technology and experience which will enable it to compete directly with the UK’s existing market leaders.

Christian Baudis, executive managing director, Tremor Media Europe, said: “After enjoying considerable growth in the US now is the right time for Tremor to extend its reach into Europe, the UK is the logical next step for the organisation. We believe that Tremor has compelling products to offer which can thrive in this market.”

Adrian Lacey, UK managing director, said: “TV commercials recreated in the right way online can be just as entertaining as through traditional channels. However, the advantage is that the internet offers far greater reach and penetration into markets and specific demographics. The growth of broadband and high-speed internet means increased video content streaming and more sophisticated online advertising campaigns.”

Lacey continued: “All indicators point to TV money following online audiences. Tremor’s Acudeo technology makes it simple for publishers to share in the potential of video in the digital format. Tremor Media will enable advertisers to reach targeted audiences with relevant content through a variety of in-banner and in-stream video formats.

Tremor’s Acudeo Video Monetisation Platform enables in-stream video advertising opportunities on top-tier publisher sites, providing publishers with a full suite of products and services to monetise streaming video and maximise ROI. In the US Tremor has a combined reach of 135 million unique visitors per month.

Twitter is now a 'destination website' and that means it is gunning for Facebook, but cleverly avoiding a direct dogfight. It’s more an information network than a social network and so is offering much, much more. Tanya Goodin, CEO of search and social conversion agency Tamar comments…
