Video streaming company Vividas has been selected to distribute a new documentary called “Food Matters” online.

In a departure from traditional distribution models, the film will be available for online viewing via Vividas’ full screen, high quality video streaming technology, as well as on DVD.

Food Matters brings together experts in nutrition and natural healing to present new claims about ways to treat depression, obesity, alcoholism, heart disease, cancer, dementia, and a host of other debilitating conditions, without the need for drugs or surgery.

The documentary, which examines whether disease can be cured naturally with healthy living and alternative treatments, is set to launch globally on 30 May 2008.

The selection of Vividas follows the distribution of “The Secret”, using the Group’s video streaming technology.

James Colquhoun, Producer-Director of “Food Matters”, comments; “It was key for us to preserve our high production values and impact online, to reach the widest possible audience and protect our intellectual property in an unobtrusive way.  Having looked at a variety of technologies, we chose Vividas because of its pedigree in these three key areas.”

Paul Neville, Chief Executive of Vividas, said; “We are excited that Food Matters has chosen our format to distribute the film on the web. This film is an exceptional example of a genre that can generate an enormous audience on line.

“By combining the importance of the film’s message, the quality of the content and clever marketing with the benefits of our technology, it’s very likely to succeed. We have established a good reputation in this market and this contract is further testimony to the attractions of our market leading product.”

Vividas delivers full-screen, broadcast quality video streamed over the internet and within corporate networks. The end user does not need to download a media player to play the clip. V

ividas technology requires 20-30% less bandwidth than competing video player formats. Unique tracking software also means distributors can closely monitor viewers.

Vividas' streaming technology has been used by, MoviePol Fox Soccer, Granada, Zurich, Foster's Group, Nestle and for online trailers for Sony Pictures, Paramount Pictures and Thomson.
