Microsoft has now expanded its deal with Facebook to provide search and advertising services on the social network.
Microsoft, already a minority shareholder in Facebook, will now provide an API which can be used by Facebook to integrate their own ads with the ads supplied by Microsoft.
Rival company Google already has a similar deal with MySpace struck two years ago. The search giant paid $900 million for MySpace's search box and ads.
Microsoft said the services will be integrated into Facebook without many changes to the overall site design.
The actual monetary value of Thursday's Facebook deal was not disclosed, although Microsoft previously invested $240m in the site last October, making it the exclusive third-party provider for advertising on Facebook.
Facebook will begin using an API from Microsoft some time in Autumn this year.
