Digital marketing agency Bigmouthmedia has added community website network AboutMyArea to its roster of clients.

The agency will provide a range of SEO and analysis designed to boost  the local news and information network's impact on the web.

The partnership will in the first instance target a site overhaul designed to optimise search engine performance.

AboutMyArea has a network of over 300 sites operated by members of each local community and with all available sites about to go live, it provides a goldmine of local comment and information about the communities it serves.

The operation offers franchisees the potential to run an interactive website for event reviews, services information and debating important local issues.

"In the global marketplace people have often overlooked the opportunities that are right on their doorstep, but the web is increasingly beginning to get local, and AboutMyArea is one of the operations leading the charge. We're delighted to be working in such a hot sector and are looking forward to what promises to be an exciting partnership," said Lyndsay Menzies, Managing Director of bigmouthmedia UK.

AboutMyArea Managing Director John Taplin added: "Selecting the right digital marketing partner is vital in this business and when it came to the crunch, bigmouthmedia's industry-leading expertise was what clinched it for us. We are delighted to have found a company with drive and passion equal to our own and that of our site editors."
