Google is retiring its AdSense Referrals scheme at the end of August, replacing it with a new affiliate network formed out of its acquisition of DoubleClick.

The DoubleClick Performics Affiliate Network will now operate as the Google Affiliate Network.

The new service lets publishers get paid for every successful sale transactions that their site brings to advertisers.

The program currently works separately from Google Adsense but could soon be integrated after a trial run.

The company is suggesting that users of AdSense Referrals move to their other offerings like Google Affiliate Network or regular AdSense program.

Users are also being recommended to take backups of all the reports related to the referrals program as they are likely to be removed from their systems when the program is ended.
