Gaming platform Amuso has gone live, allowing users to create their own cash prize game shows to play among friends and other users.
Users can choose from a variety of ‘channels’ to play and create games, such as photo contests and talent shows.
Host can run a game show and each contestant is charged £1 for entry through a ‘wallet’ system. Once the votes are counted and verified, a percentage of the jackpot is given to Amuso.com, the host and then the winner takes the majority share.
Not all games are paid for, hosts can choose between free games shows, credit game shows or prize jackpots.
Not only does Amuso.com allow users to share in its profits, but it also lets brands and charities create games to market themselves.
The site was created by two former Yahoo! staff, Jordi Baumal and Barak Rabinowitz, with the aim of capitalising on the amount of people consuming UGC and the high viewing figures for game shows.
The platform launched with backing from the investors behind Skype, Joost and SeatWave, and advised by industry veterans from EMI, Celador and Xbox LIVE.
