Online media firm Lycos is working with media search platform Pixsy Corporation to incorporate video and image search features.

The new feature will enable website owners to run a branded multimedia search engine with content customized to that specific audience, thereby creating new search activity and targeted advertising inventory.

“We chose Pixsy for their robust multimedia search offering and deep index of the most popular consumer content on the web,” said Edward Noel, General Manager of Search Products for Lycos, Inc.  “This effort reflects our company-wide focus on providing Lycos users with a more visual-oriented, multi-media experience across all of our products and services."

Pixsy CEO, Chase Norlin added, “We’re excited to be working with such a world class search company and this is a great example of our ability to offer unique new products, such as Pixsy News, built off the powerful Pixsy media search platform.”
