Pan-asian restaurant chain Wagamama is launching a new digital ad campaign on Multimap.

The campaign will combine geotargeted advertising with Multimap’s ad-serving technologies to display Wagamama locations on maps on Multimap.com.

The activity has been booked by media planning and buying agency, AdConnection to raise awareness restaurant locations and encourage visits

Wagamama has sixty restaurants across the UK from Cardiff to Glasgow, serving twelve tons of noodles a week.

Visitors to Multimap.com will be shown geo-targeted leaderboard and MPU adverts when they search for a map in an area where a restaurant is located.

The adverts will feature a call to action to ‘Click here for noodles in this area.’ When the visitor clicks the restaurant locations are revealed on the map, identified by a star logo. A click on these logos reveals information including the address and telephone number of the branch and a further takes the visitor through to the Wagamama website

The campaign creative, has been produced by Magnitude, which has also designed and built the Wagamama.com site. Visitors can also click through to Wagamama.com to learn more about the brand and sign-up for membership and special offers, including games and vouchers.

Ingrid Williamson, Marketing Manager at Wagamama comments: “Multimap suggested this industry first, linking our location data with their mapping and ad-serving technology to serve geo-targeted interactive ads. This will increase our reach and awareness in areas where we have a restaurant and encourage people to visit the branch.”

Barry Slatter, Head of Business Development at Multimap added: “This is the first time we have linked the ad units to generate ‘in map’ content. The adverts are only shown to people searching in an area where a branch of Wagamama is located so AdConnection is making clever use of their budget, whilst enabling us to provide interesting and useful information for our consumers. This kind of service can help and inspire consumers when they are planning a trip, which will drive more traffic to Wagamama restaurants and its website.”

Twitter is now a 'destination website' and that means it is gunning for Facebook, but cleverly avoiding a direct dogfight. It’s more an information network than a social network and so is offering much, much more. Tanya Goodin, CEO of search and social conversion agency Tamar comments…
