The Mirror picks Mediarun for shopping site SEO

Search marketing agency Mediarun Search has been selected by The Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) to help make its online shopping website appear higher in major search engine rankings.

MGN re-launched their re-designed shopping site www.mirrorshopping.co.uk,  in June 2008.

The site had originally provided an online shopping platform for their traditional reader offers.

The new site will be competing aggressively in the reader offers space, but will also be looking for significant growth by opening up new customers from the wider market across a range of product and service sectors.

MGN were looking for an SEO agency that could help the new shopping site compete organically in search engines against both direct competitors and general ecommerce retailers across different verticals.

This supports MGN and Trinity Mirror’s commitment to continual digital development across its multiplatform media business and follows the recent complete re-design of the flagship Mirror.co.uk website and the announcement of Trinity Mirror’s launch into Mobile.

The Mirror is just one of a significant number of new clients Mediarun has signed to its core performance based search engine optimisation service since the beginning of January 2008.

Melanie Riley, MGN Deputy Business Enterprise Director, said: “It was important for us to choose an agency with the enthusiasm, personal service and boutique approach to help us hit our growth targets for 2008. Mediarun Search have a proven track record of delivering results and have demonstrated a fresh approach to this project as well as a cost-effective pricing model.” Mediarun Search won the project in a competitive pitch.

Alex Wares, Managing Director of Mediarun Search, attributes this year’s numerous successful client wins to the company’s ability to offer a fresh boutique approach to organic search and the commitment to pre-agreed performance-based targets. “The search industry is growing faster than ever before.

“In today’s challenging trading conditions clients are looking for agencies who are focused on delivering a measurable return on investment and who can squeeze the highest ROI from marketing spend. The days of vague promises in SEO are long gone. Mediarun Search has built a reputation over the last 3 years for delivering results and our recent client wins and growth reflect this.”

Twitter is now a 'destination website' and that means it is gunning for Facebook, but cleverly avoiding a direct dogfight. It’s more an information network than a social network and so is offering much, much more. Tanya Goodin, CEO of search and social conversion agency Tamar comments…
