Digital ad sales firm Media Initiatives Group (MIG) has promoted Fay McDonald to the newly created senior post of Online Trading Director.

The new role has been created to ‘develop deeper relationships with agencies and oversee client service delivery’ for MIG’s online divisions.

Fay will work directly with agency heads and trading directors to promote the Group’s full online offering.

As well as providing a fast response mechanism to client feedback Fay’s remit will be to proactively educate agencies about MIG’s portfolio of services beyond display advertising.

Commenting on her role as Online Trading Director Fay said: “The market is now becoming so crowded that MIG has to demonstrate its worth over and above what can be offered by our competitors. Through this new role I aim to reinforce MIG’s commitment to customer service, in such a costly market, good advice can be just as significant as pricing. Since my position sits outside specific divisions I am best placed to open a completely objective communication channel with customers.”

Alan Greaney, CEO of MIG, said of Fay’s promotion: “The creation of several new strategic roles in recent months demonstrates our resolve to place MIG at the forefront of the industry in terms of client satisfaction. We want the industry to recognise that we are more than a digital sales house; we are a technology-focused company with a strong sales background and commitment to service. This philosophy informs all of our strategy; we aim to provide a greater level of specialism at a platform level yet offer greater integration of services through Fay’s relationships with clients and education programs about the Group.”

As well as the new executive position other moves to support clients include the expansion of the premium sales division, eType and performance sales division, Accelerator, as well as the launch of an internal Ad Ops team trafficking on average, five billion ads monthly for the Group.

Twitter is now a 'destination website' and that means it is gunning for Facebook, but cleverly avoiding a direct dogfight. It’s more an information network than a social network and so is offering much, much more. Tanya Goodin, CEO of search and social conversion agency Tamar comments…
