TAMBA wins red Nose Day challenge

The game TAMBA produced, Red Lead, beat competition from online agencies Matmi and iconmatch, as well as picking up an Adobe Site of the Day award along the way.

The award was given for the most effective game, and Red Lead achieved the most clickthroughs of all the entries to Red Nose Day's donation page at http://www.rednoseday.com/digitalchallenge/.

As well as creating and seeding the game, TAMBA set up a MySpace page, which allowed MySpace users to embed the game within their own pages.

The game achieved a 53% returning player rate, according to viral stats producer MemeCounter.

Winning the Digital Challenge means TAMBA will be presented with the Red Nose Day award at the NMA Effectiveness Awards in June.

“We're delighted to have won this award, which demonstrates not only that the game was effectively seeded but also targeted to achieve clickthroughs and donations”, said Kay Hammond, MD of TAMBA Internet. “We're proud to be bringing this award back to Birmingham.”

Sara Davies, from Comic Relief said “It was really inspiring to see how TAMBA rose to the challenge for Red Nose Day to help us spread the message”.

TAMBA have been recruiting for additional viral specialists in recent weeks to produce the large number of games currently being commissioned. New hire announcements are expected in the next two weeks.
