Aimed at teens, the music site will run a number of ad formats and advertisers can use live linking to web addresses and auto-play audio/visual content.

Launching on 6 September 6, the Top of the Pops e-zine will offer an interactive music news and entertainment service in tandem with the newsstand version.

Extras will include rich media exclusives of the Pussycat Dolls and Neyo music videos.

The print title sells almost 120,000 copies every four weeks (ABC Jan-Jun 06).

The TV version of Top of the Pops was recently cancelled after 42 years of music programming.

Following the first complimentary edition, readers can sign up for an annual subscription to the digital edition for £9.99.

Subscribers to the digital version will get the online version of the magazine five days before it hits the newsstands.

Duncan Gray, associate publisher, BBC Magazines Teen Group, said: “We're really excited to be the first teen title to enter this side of the digital marketplace. We see this digital edition as a complimentary purchase that offers up a whole new way for readers to enjoy TOTP magazine by incorporating a range of interactive features.”

Readers can also receive details on downloading the digital edition through the magazine’s website and it will also be promoted through its recently launched email newsletter which has already attracted over 3000 members.

Zinio will be promoting the magazine on www.zinio.com and through it’s digital database aiming at international sales.
