LoveFilm expands movie download service

Momentum, the studio behind this year’s ‘Lord of War’ and ‘Broken Flowers’ will initially supply 100 titles such as documentary ‘Bowling for Columbine’ and ‘Stander’ to LoveFilm members.

 

Users can view the service through Microsoft Windows Media Player version 10, which also provides a digital rights management system, security and anti-piracy control.

 

The service is further enabled through LoveFilm's own technology platform, Hoffman.

 

Once downloaded, films are viewable on the users’ PC for a seven day period.

 

LoveFilm now distributes content from Momentum, Warner Bros, Celluloid Dreams, World Cinema Online and shorts from Aardman Animation, and Bafta.  The firm also provides movie downloads to AOL in the UK.
