Agency.com opens Brussels office after Hypervision acquisition

Mar 30, 2006

The firm will be rebranded under the name Agency.com Brussels to become the seventh full service office in the group.

Formed in 1991, Hypervision clients include Masterfoods, Mitsubishi Motors, PlayStation and Samsonite Corporation. Activities range from the creation of interactive marketing campaigns to the development of websites.

Johan Hermans, managing director of Agency.com Brussels, said: “We are really excited to be joining the Agency.com group. The advantages lie especially in the exchange of knowledge and people between the various offices. A first example of this synergy is the e-commerce website recently launched for Samsonite, www.samsoniteblacklabel.com and developed by Agency.com Brussels and our new colleagues in Chicago.”

The opening of the Brussels office is the first major development to occur under the control of Agency.com’s new chief executive officer, David Eastman. Taking over the role at the beginning of March 2006, Eastman’s immediate focus was cited as being on European expansion.

Eastman commented: “Hypervision initially attracted Agency.com through the innovative and highly creative work we have seen them produce for their clients. They are a young, dynamic and fast growing operation who are digital fanatics at their core and really understand the role of interactive as it fits into the total brand experience.”

11 years old, Agency.com was founded in 1995 in New York and in 2003 became a fully-owned subsidiary of the Omnicom Group. In 2005 Agency.com became affiliated with the TBWA\ advertising network.
