Sports site adds VoIP and video features

The site will deploy Voice Commerce’ WhitePhone and CastAlive technology, to 200 countries worldwide offering fans free calls, voice and video messages online.  

 

The deal will see Sportal.com now provide a fully branded, VoIP-enabled service offering video Casts and access to live sports events, along with free PC-to-PC calls, phone calls and video and voice messaging to lets fans discuss events as they happen. 

 

The video announcement promotes a live IPTV broadcast of the World Cup warm up match between Trinidad & Tobago and Iceland at Loftus Road, home of Queens Park Rangers, at 8pm on Tuesday 28 February.

 

Peter Lewinton of Sportal.com said “Now our users can chat online whilst viewing the latest sports content, completely free of charge.  We expect that using WhitePhone will help us to build stronger relationships with our customers and build differentiation to our sports publishing business. 

“Moreover, CastAlive will help us with rich media advertising and promotion of future events to a worldwide audience.” 

 

The game can be viewed on www.Sportal.com and through the WhitePhone Desktop.  

 

President of the Voice Commerce Group, and founder of WorldPay, Nick Ogden commented: “We are adding around one new major media publisher a week to our network and growing a global network of end users who benefit from a complete communications desktop integrated with web browsers and video technologies.”
