Warner to offer Skype users music ringtones

The deal will see music from Warner’s stable of artists, including Madonna and Green Day, made available as downloadable ringtones to Skype’s users.
In the US, ringtone downloads will be priced at $1.50 each, although pricing plans for other countries have not been disclosed.
Skype which was boughtr by eBay last year, said it expects to start offering the ring tones in the coming months.
To promote the service, Skype’s retail store will include a ‘Featured Artist’ section including a link to a download ring tones from that artist's music.
According to the global music trade body, the International Federation of Phonographic Industries (IFPI), ringtone sales accounted for around $400m, representing 36% of total digital music revenues of $1.10 bn.
