The firm, owner of North London nightclub KOKO which hosted Madonna’s exclusive album promotion gig last November, will employ email and SMS marketing to reach its customers.

The bar is currently sending out 60,000 emails each week to promote events at KOKO. Upcoming events include concerts by The Zutons and 70s punk band Buzzcocks.

Mint Group intends to increase its use of email marketing in the coming months to keep customers of its other London venues; Infernos and Latin Splash in Clapham and Elk Bar in Fulham, updated about weekly events.

Darren Fell, founder of Pure360.com, said: “For me this marks the start of the decline of the traditional club flyer. Email will allow Mint Group to reach its audience faster and for the first time show each campaign’s marketing effectiveness through live reporting.”

Founded in 2000 by Darren Fell, Brighton-based Pure360 has some 200 clients, includingLevis, Innocent Drinks, global IT supplier RS Components, recruitment agency Harvey Nash and online charity donation service Justgiving.com.

SMS is the obvious “lowest common denominator” mobile marketing solution... yet critics still talk about apps and website and vouchers. Darren Daws, Managing Director at Txtlocal argues why SMS is still the best mobile marketing medium, even on smartphones.
