The campaign was created by ad agency Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw with online production by the firm’s sister digital agency Underwired.

The ads feature a character named ‘Doc Holiday’, and encourage consumers to book their summer holiday by ‘prescribing’ solutions and using a range of typically Virgin like images displaying every day scenarios and activities.

The character Doc Holiday goes on to prescribe a range of suitable holiday ‘remedies’.

Ginny Macklen, head of marketing communications for Virgin Holidays said: “There are so many travel companies in the market now competing for business and advertising at this time of the year so it was important that we came up with a creative concept that touched the emotions of customers and weren’t just about advertising the lowest price.”

The  ‘Doc Holiday’s Surgery Open’ campaign will through key national & trade press, radio and online media including sites such as AOL, Sky News and the Times online.
