Bringing the world’s style bible directly to the fingertips of UK fashion consumers, O2 transports the creative vision of magazine chic into mobile history as British Vogue goes mobile for the first time.

The service offers updated news on catwalk looks and fashion trends while offering backstage pictures and show videos.

Mobile Vogue also offers tips on what to buy and downloadable Vogue covers and images as wallpapers.

Vogue will form part of a new lifestyle section called Style, on O2’s Active portal. Although  Style has a strong female focus, the new portal also incorporates GQ Style, sharing tips on grooming and fashion.

Abigail Chisman, editor-in-chief of Condé Nast Interactive, said: “What’s really exciting is that with 600 of the best bags, shoes, clothes and bars on your phone, you can walk down the high street already knowing what you want to buy – and all the stockists and phone numbers you’ll ever need are already in your hand.”

Manjit Waters, head of mobile portals at O2, said: “At O2, we are seeing more and more women use the services that are available on O2 Active, but we felt there was a big need to provide a fashion and style content which is much more relevant to them.”

SMS is the obvious “lowest common denominator” mobile marketing solution... yet critics still talk about apps and website and vouchers. Darren Daws, Managing Director at Txtlocal argues why SMS is still the best mobile marketing medium, even on smartphones.
