The site revamp forms part of the new digital marketing ahead of the release of the new album You Could Have It So Much Better, released 4 October.

DS.Emotion has redeveloped the site to focus on providing more exclusive audio and video content that can be regularly updated.

Franz Ferdinand have also become citizen reporters, equipped with laptops, microphones and digital cameras, to upload footage to the site from wherever they are in the world.

A new RSS blog feed from each band member will allow fans exclusive access to all the latest insights from each member.

DS.Emotion will initially launch the RSS blog feed for the US site www.franzferdinand.tv and it is hoped the RSS blog feed will be rolled out to other Franz Ferdinand sites in October.

Offline activity, including posters and the inlay sleeves of the new single and album, will name check the URL and encourage fans to register their details online to receive the newsletter, which provides information on the latest releases and exclusive videos and content.

Opther new features include updates on gigs and releases, a new biography section, lyrics, and the chance to email the band direct and have their answers posted up on the site. The online shop has also expanded with a greater range of merchandise.

Chris Hassell, new media director at DS.Emotion said: “We’re working closer than ever before with the band and their record label Domino.

"The first site attracted over 15,000 unique visitors a day and this will increase significantly with the new site and new features. Over the past 18 months, we’ve monitored feedback from fans and we know what they really want.”
