The deal will see Premium TV use WebTrends 7 On Demand to monitor user behaviour and site functionality across its network of 100 sites.

Premium TV manages the digital media rights for a variety of sports-associated web sites including Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers, The Carling Cup and the Coca-Cola Championship.

The service will also give Premium TV the ability to determine which parts of each site - news, fixtures, match reports - are the most popular.

Premium TV also uses WebTrends to monitor its affiliate marketing campaigns to determine which programmes are most effective and which marketing campaigns are generating sales.

WebTrends also helps to create a 'league table' of Premium TV's top web sites, which is critical to individual site managers as Premium TV pays the club a proportion of advertising revenue based on the number of web visitors it recieves.

David Cridland, financial controller of Premium TV, said: "We have nearly 100 websites operating under the Premium TV banner and working with WebTrends means we can consistently provide sports fans with the content they want - be it news, match analysis or highlights from the latest games."

The company also recently launched its subscription-based service which allows its 50,000 subscribers to view match highlights, listen to match commentary and see live interviews with players and managers.

Premium TV has recently added the World Rally Championships to its web site portfolio, which according to WebTrends has attracted 9 million page impressions in the last month alone.

The company also hopes to expand into other areas of sports and entertainment including Rugby Union, ATP Tennis, and football clubs from the Scottish, Dutch and Spanish leagues.
