Reuters hires Telegraph man for new role

In the newly created role, Faircliff will manage the multimedia news services across Reuters online, mobile and interactive television platforms.
The move forms part of Reuters plans to grow its media business by developing a series of new digital services targeted at consumers in the areas of news, business information and financial investments.
Tim Faircliff will manage all commercial aspects of Reuters consumer news services including product and site development, sales and marketing, and relationships with partners and third party content providers. He will report to Alisa Bowen, head of Reuters.co.uk.
He joins Reuters from the Telegraph Group where has worked for the last seven years in a number of digital media roles, most recently as general manager of Telegraph.co.uk. In this role he has managed all aspects of the site and its development.
Faircliff is also on the boards of the Association of Online Publishers and of the IDM/IAB Digital Marketing Council.
He was also until recently a non executive director of handbag.com, the joint venture between Telegraph Group and retailer Boots.
